Join Aquarium of the Bay for a night of wipeouts, waves and wetsuits! Aquarium of the Bay will be hosting An Evening of Surfing Films. This event is part of the America's Cup Healthy Ocean Project Film and Lecture Series, which features a year-round calendar or topic-specific films and lectures. Each event is designed to engage the public, raise awareness and celebrate the beauty of our bay, our ocean and our planet by focusing on key issues affecting each of these fragile ecosystems.

Four talented filmmakers will share their visions on the big screen. Hosting this surfing event is Grant Washburn, whose name is synonymous with big-wave surfing as a Maverick's test pilot, ocean enthusiast, documentarian and surfer extraordinaire. Before the films, guests may mingle and enjoy a wine reception. A question and answer session with filmmakers and local Maverick's surfers will follow the screening.

The 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge on May 27, 2012 marks a major milestone in the Bay Area's rich history, connecting communities and people from around the world. To celebrate this achievement, the "75th Tributes to the Bridge, a Community Partners Program" is uniting a wide range of organizations and talents together for one reason - to honor this beloved engineering marvel by bringing forward unique and innovative tributes in recognition of the bridge's rich legacy. PIER 39 is proud to be participating in this important civic event.

Get ready cats, as you travel back in time to the 1930's when the Golden Gate Bridge was built, as PIER 39 turns up the volume with a snazzy swing band, the Fil Lorenz Orchestra. Put your dancing shoes on and partake in free swing dance lessons provided by Swing or Nothing in the Entrance Plaza. Then PIER 39 transports you back to today to celebrate the Bridge's 75th anniversary. Bring your friends and come rock out to all your favorite hits from Pop Fiction. From 2 - 6 pm, enjoy free face painting, take a picture with Salty the Sea Lion, meet John van der Zee, the impressive author of The Gate, boogie woogie to The Honeybee Trio and so much more! Topping off the celebration, will be a spectacular fireworks show that will ignite the sky around 9:30 pm. It's going to be a ring-a-ding-ding good time!

Spend the day rocking out to live bands in PIER 39's Entrance Plaza, and at approximately 9:30pm look to the sky as The City of San Francisco presents a spectacular fireworks display over San Francisco Bay. So grab your stars and stripes and take advantage of PIER 39's amazing 360-degree Bay views this 4th of July.

The roar of jet engines soaring overhead means one thing -- it's Fleet Week in San Francisco! PIER 39 joins the celebration honoring the men and women of our nation's armed forces with live military band performances, interactive exhibits, military vehicles and displays, and the best viewing spot of the Parade of Ships and the Blue Angels' air show.

Welcome the holiday season with a day of holly-jolly magic and merriment at PIER 39! Engage in fun for the whole family with interactive exhibits, special meet-and-greets, live holiday music sing-alongs, and more. Everything culminates at 5:30pm as PIER 39's majestic 60ft. tree adorned with glistening ornaments, bows and twinkling lights is illuminated against a stunning backdrop of the San Francisco City skyline.
