Adventure Cat Sailing Charters

Adventure Cat sails across the bay to the Marin Headlands, under the Golden Gate Bridge and into Kirby Cove, where you may see harbor seals, sea lions, dolphins and local birds. Adventure Cat’s quiet catamaran is able to sail close to these animals in their natural habitat. The captain gives children the opportunity to take a turn manning this high performance vessel. This 2-hour program takes place daily from 10am – 12pm and requires a 42 person minimum.

Aquarium of the Bay is a unique nature center dedicated to the rich and diverse aquatic life of the San Francisco Bay and its surrounding waters. Aquarium of the Bay offers specialized classes, guided tours of the aquarium and expert naturalists to answer questions and encourages hands-on experiences with sea stars, sea urchins and leopard sharks. Classes are typically one-hour in length.

Angel Island Take a Blue & Gold Fleet ferry to Angel Island. For more than 6,000 years, Angel Island was the home to the Miwok Indians. From the Civil War to the Cold War, Angel Island served as a military installation and an immigration station, more commonly referred to as the Ellis Island of the West. Today, Angel Island is a California State Park, preserving the history of the past.

Sea Lions in the City

A Marine Mammal Center instructor will guide your group’s observation of the California sea lions. During this one-hour program learn about their natural history, antics and why they like PIER 39. Participants study a sea lion skeleton and touch seal, sea lion and otter pelts. Set aside additional time to visit The Marine Mammal Interpretive Center and Store located on Level 2 of PIER 39. Program length: One-hour (45-minutes for Pre-K/K) Group size: Up to 35, including chaperones Rates: School and non-profit rates available Please call at least one month in advance. The Marine Mammal Interpretive Center

Since 1975, The Marine Mammal Center in Marin County continues to rescue and treat ill and injured seals, sea lions and other marine mammals along 600 miles of the Northern and Central California Coast.
