Sea Lions Arrival
January 19, 2008

PIER 39 commemorates the seventeenth anniversary of the sea lions' arrival. Through the years, these playful pinnipeds have taken up permanent residence to the delight of spectators and have become international "sea lebrities."

Tulipmania
February 13-18, 2008

Estimated Attendance: 150,000
PIER 39 presents its popular Tulipmania Festival showcasing thousands of tulips in full bloom throughout both levels of PIER 39. It's the largest tulip display in Northern California! Features on-PIER promotional activities and hospitality.

Fourth of July Waterfront Celebration
July 4, 2008

Estimated Attendance: 200,000
Celebrate Independence Day in style at PIER 39 while enjoying a great musical lineup. This event, part of The City of San Francisco's Fourth of July Waterfront Celebration, will include a full-day of music the whole family will enjoy. An elaborate fireworks display will be launched from barges off PIER 39 and the Municipal Pier at approximately 9:15 PM.

Viva Las Americas
August 23, 2008

Viva Las Americas celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. This festive event will showcase music and dance performances of Mexico, Central and South America.  Fun for children includes traditional Latin-American crafts and face-painting.

Fleet Week
October 11-12, 2008

Estimated Attendance: 200,000

Fleet Week is the Bay Area's spectacular two-day family fun event featuring the Blue Angels, a parade of Navy ships and more. After the air show on each day, PIER 39 will host musical entertainment on its Entrance Plaza stage from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.

Pumpkin Pandemonium
October 26, 2008

Ghoulish and giddy behavior is part of the fun as kids in costume trick or treat throughout PIER 39's two levels of shops, restaurants and attractions. Enjoy pumpkin carving demonstrations, children's theater and face painting. Children are welcome to wander through the pumpkin patch and select a free pumpkin.

PIER 39 Holiday Tree Lighting
November 16, 2008

Estimated Attendance: 35,000

A festive multi-cultural celebration that showcases Christmas, Chanuka and Kawanzaa, PIER 39’s Holiday Harmony, features fun for all ages. Bay Area entertainers and musical groups will perform seasonal favorites. PIER 39’s majestic tree, adorned with 400 glistening ornaments, 500 bows and 2,000 twinkling lights will be lit at 5:30 PM in the Entrance Plaza.
