ESPN SportsCenter to Broadcast Live from PIER 39, February 2

SAN FRANCISCO – (January 28, 2016) – ESPN anchor Lindsay Czarniak will be hosting the 3 p.m. (PST) edition of SportsCenter live from PIER 39’s Entrance Plaza on Tuesday, February 2nd. The show will feature a pair of ESPN NFL analysts, 49ers Hall of Famer and former Super Bowl MVP Steve Young, and three-time New England Patriots Super Bowl Champion Tedy Bruschi. In addition to the entire 3 p.m. edition of SportsCenter, ESPN anchor Hannah Storm will be doing a series of segments from The PIER throughout the day on Tuesday.

“SportsCenter is very excited about coming to PIER 39 for one of our days of Super Bowl coverage,” said Jim Bowdon, ESPN Coordinating Producer for SportsCenter. “Our plan has actually been months in the making. Originally, if there had been a game 7 in the NBA finals in June, SportsCenter was planning on doing several shows from PIER 39. But now we are able to use that plan for our Super Bowl coverage. It’s an ideal spot with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz and downtown San Francisco. Of course there are the sea lions that hang out at The PIER. It should make our shows quintessential San Francisco.”

SportsCenter is ESPN’s flagship news and information program. Over the past year, SportsCenter has regularly gone on the road for coverage of major events such as the NBA Playoffs, World Series, College Football Playoff National Championship, and more. ESPN and SportsCenter will be in the Bay Area all next week for Super Bowl. In addition to Tuesday’s show at PIER 39, ESPN’s production headquarters will be based at Marina Green in San Francisco from Wednesday through Super Bowl Sunday.

SportsCenter’s live telecast is just one of 50 Super Reasons why guests are invited to visit PIER 39 next week.
