There will be live music, a tie-dye making station, a Thank You banner you can sign for the band and many other specials from merchants throughout The PIER.  A portion of sales from participating merchants will be donated to The Rex Foundation, the Grateful Dead’s Official Charitable organization.




1:00 pm — 3:00 pm: The Minglewood Boys 

San Francisco’s most authentic Grateful Dead Tribute band, stacked with some of the Bay Area’s best musicians dedicated to keeping The Dead’s spirit alive.  They bring a vast portion of the Grateful Dead and JGB catalogue to life at every performance.  If you’re looking for a dance party, you have found it!



5:00 pm — 7:00 pm: The Sunshine Garcia Band 

A rock and soul driven collective led by vocalist/flutist and songwriter Sunshine (Garcia) Becker. Known for her work as a member of Bob Weir & Phil Lesh’s Furthur, Melvin Seals & Jerry Garcia Band  and the vocal band SoVoSó, Sunshine presents a live music experience that is full of joy, grooves, improvisation playing music from Jerry Garcia’s large catalog and more!

    • Visit the Hard Rock Café at PIER 39 to see Grateful Dead drummer, Bill Kreutzmann’s drum kit, a portrait of Jerry Garcia painted by Grace Slick, rare photographs, a handwritten set list by Jerry Garcia, concert ticket stubs and more. Live music “Summer of Love” music will also be taking place on their Patio from 3-5pm.  Donations will be accepted to The Rex Foundation.

The Rex Foundation, founded by members of the Grateful Dead, their families and friends in 1983, aims to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support and critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere. Since 1984, the Rex Foundation has granted $9 million to over 1,300 recipients.
